Every year B’lev Echad sponsors a Super Sukkot Extravaganza. This year hundreds of children with special needs and their families participated in two major events held in Jerusalem and Modi’in Illit.
This year, B’Lev Echad once again ran their now famous Simchas Beis Hashoeva events two seperate days of Chol HaMoed Sukkos in Jerusalem and Modi’in Illit. Both the Ramot Community Center hall in Jerusalem and the Gan Hadassim event hall in Modi’in Illit were generously donated by the owners for the events.
Families of children with special needs from all over the country participated in the two events giving their children over to the dedicated hands of hundred of B’Lev Echad volunteers who danced and sang for hours from early afternoon until well into the evening. Well known Hassidic singers from the United States came with their bands to bring joy into the hearts of hundreds of children and their families.
Rabbi Kessler, the Rabbi of Modi’in Illit, Nachman Neiman from the municipality of Modi’in Illit joined in the simcha in Modi’in Illit, while Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon and Rav Dovid Blumenstock from the municipality of Jerusalem graced the Jerusalem event with their presence.
Well known singer Simcha Leiner and the Pumbedita band from the United States, joined singers Yehuda Flieshman, Ushi Porush, Arele Sharp, Ruli Dickman, Sruly Klatzkin and young singer Moti Greenboim in being mesameach the children of B’Lev Echad. In Jerusalem the “Fire” Orchestra under the direction of Yanky Landau and in Modiin Ilit Arele Nachshoni with a full band electrified the atmosphere with their music and song.
HaRav Meir Kessler, speaking at the Modi’in Illit event, noted that this special event was particularly appropriate for Sukkos as a time of great simcha as it brings such joy to so many. He gave a heartfelt bracha to B’Lev Echad and their dedicated volunteers and all of those involved in the holy work of bringing joy into the lives of families who are struggling with illness and special needs.
This Sukkos Event is but one of a long list of B’Lev Echad events and activities throughout the year that note the needs not only of the child with special needs himself but his entire family. In addition, B’Lev Echad has initiated a free loan Tablet program for hospitalized children and a medical referral service. B’Lev Echad runs birthday parties and Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations. Together with visits to hospitals, B’Lev Echad is busy year round bringing joy to the lives of those who truly need it.
The administration of B’Lev Echad extends their deepest thanks to the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who helped make these events such a resounding success. In the name of the hundreds of children and their families who benefited from the events, B’Lev Echad extends deepest gratitude to the Torah culture department of the Municipality of Jerusalem who provided sponsorship, the owners of Ramot community center and Gan Hadasim event hall in Modi’in Illit for generously donating their premises for the events, and the Meshubach company for their benevolent donation of snacks.
